DENVER (AP) - The governor's office says Colorado will save an estimated $60,000 per year by having state employees access their pay stubs online instead of sending them pay stubs printed out on paper.

The state started issuing paperless pay stubs to some employees in late November. The governor's office says that by the end of December, state agencies had saved more than $5,400 in paper, printing and postage costs.

Ninety percent of the state's 33,000 employees now access their pay stubs online. The rest will go paperless in the coming months.
