State Fair Parade happens Saturday

The Colorado State Fair Parade happens Saturday in downtown Pueblo starting at 10 a.m.  Spectators are expected to number around 40,000, as they watch more than 100 entries, including more than 20 bands.  The parade starts on the Mesa Junction and runs through the Union Avenue Historic District and then up to 8th and Main Street.

The Chamber of Commerce needs volunteers to help with crowd control and to hand out programs.  Volunteers will be asked to arrive at 9 a.m. at which time they will be assigned a street corner. The volunteers would be expected to man their corner until the parade is over, approximately noon. Volunteers must be 16 years or older. Volunteers will be given a day pass to the Colorado State Fair.

If you are interested, please contact Amber Bliss at amberv@pueblochamber.net or 719-542-1704. A volunteer breakfast is scheduled for Thursday morning at the Gold Dust Saloon, 7 a.m. If you are unable to make the breakfast, instructions will be communicated the day of the parade. You must contact Amber no later than Thursday, 5 p.m., to qualify for the Colorado State Fair Free Pass.
