Standoff at Cheyenne Vista Apartments

The SWAT team has been called in to assist CSPD in negotiations at a standoff at Cheyenne Vista Apartments in Colorado Springs. Police say a couple got into a domestic altercation around 7:40 this morning; alcohol may be involved. The man is holding the woman and a 6 year old boy inside the apartment at this time; police report that he may be armed. Neighbors say the man has a 9mm gun. Approximately 24 people have been evacuated from the surrounding homes as a precaution. We will continue to update this story as information comes in.
