Standing water and failure to slow down contribute to crash on I-25 near Pueblo

PUEBLO -- The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a crash near Pueblo that resulted after one vehicle failed to slow down on Monday evening.

A tractor trailer was headed southbound in the left lane of I-25, north of Pueblo at milepost 104, when the driver began to slow down because of standing water, according to the state patrol.

A sedan, traveling behind the semi, failed to slow down and hit the rear of the trailer.

The driver of the sedan, 18 year-old Christian Duran of Pueblo, went to a local hospital for serious injuries.

The driver of the semi, with the complaint of injury, was released on the scene.
