El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa announced Friday that fire restrictions are now lifted within the county.
The decision comes after increased moisture and the relief of resources previously assigned to fight the Waldo Canyon Fire. While restrictions are now lifted, El Paso County residents are encouraged to use extreme caution.
The Sheriff's office says the presence of fire fuels like underbrush, dry grass, pine needles and other foliage remain a concern.
Fire officials will continue to monitor fuels, weather and other relevant factors to determine if restrictions are needed in the future.
