Stabbing suspect arrested, woman still missing

Investigators in El Paso and Pueblo Counties are frantically searching for 28 year old Danielle Garcia, after they say she was kidnapped from a home in the Security-Widefield area Tuesday morning.

Deputies say 35 year old Herbert Hudson kidnapped Garcia. Investigators tell us the 2 have been married since September. Around 11:30 this morning, investigators say Hudson entered a home on the 5000 block of Wainwright Drive where Garcia and a 43 year old man they believe she was also seeing were staying.

After an argument police say Hudson stabbed the man multiple times and then forced Garcia out of the home at knife point before leaving with her in his car. The stabbing victim is listed in critical condition.

Hours later, Pueblo Police caught up to Hudson at a home on the 1300 block of Claremont. When he saw police, he ran. "They did get in to a short foot pursuit with him and he was taken in to custody." explains Sgt. Robert Jaworski with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

Hudson was arrested on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and burglary. His suv was also impounded. When police searched the home and the car for Garcia, she was nowhere to be found. "It's a top priority right now." says Jaworski, "Until we find her this is the case that we're going to be working." Investigators tell us Garcia was last seen wearing only a t-shirt when she was kidnapped.

We've also been looking in to Herbert Hudson's past. He's been on parole since August. He was convicted of 2nd degree murder in the 2000 shooting of Roy Mitchell, but the conviction was later overturned because of a conflict of interest in the case. Hudson pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 12 years in prison. That sentence would have expired in 2013.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Danielle Garcia, you are asked to call the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
