St. Patrick's Day parade celebrates 30th anniversary

COLORADO SPRINGS - Organizers of the St. Patrick's Day Parade expect 30,000 people to head downtown ready to party this year.  But there's more than just a parade going on.  There's a a sports expo, a 5k, a bicycle race and the Leprechaun Fun Run for the wee ones.

The parade has over 100 entries, including bands, floats, flags, leprechauns, cars, firetrucks, and plenty of bagpipes.

Events start Friday, March 14th with the St. Patty's Sports Expo.  Saturday Morning starts off at 8:30 am with the 50K Bike Ride, followed by the 5K Run at 10 am; the Leprechaun Fun Run at 11:00 am; and the Parade kicks off at Noon.

Watching the parade is free, but tickets for Grand Stand seating are available.

The parade is usually one of the largest events in Colorado Springs.

For more information, visit the event's website.
