As you prepare for the Easter holiday, Springs Rescue Mission is also asking for you to think of those in need.
Right now they're struggling to get enough food, to put together a holiday meal this weekend, for area families. They're hoping they'll be able to gather enough supplies to not only get them through Easter but also provide throughout the whole year, "Were actually promoting the Easter event now, however people are hungry year round and we want to make certain we have as many donations as possible," says Karen Hughes with the Rescue Mission.
The Springs Rescue Mission says they need thinks like ham, fruits and vegetables; preferably canned, boxed stuffing and mashed potatoes and gravy. They're also in need of hygiene products to hand out and would love to have some new bikes donated to give away to area kids. They're expecting over 500 people to show up for their Easter Live event this Saturday.
If you want to help, you can drop donations at the Rescue Mission on W. Las Vegas St. in the Springs Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
