Springs police arrest pizza delivery robbers

A trio of men suspected of robbing pizza delivery drivers and other members of the public at knife point in Colorado Springs have been arrested. Detectives with the Colorado Springs Police Department Robbery Unit took 18-year old Alexis Mendez and 19-year old Hunter Flores in custody last Tuesday, August 7. The third suspect, Jonathan Glaspy, 19, was already in custody on separate charges.

The robberies date back to July 16 when Flores and Mendez are suspected of robbing two victims at knifepoint while they were parked at Palmer Park. Glaspy is suspected of robbing a pizza deliver driver and stealing his car on July 20 while the driver was making a delivery in the 1000 block of Auburn Drive.

Glaspy and Flores are suspected of robbing another delivery driver in the 1400 block of Bowser Drive on July 23, and Flores and Mendez are suspected of threatening two people with a baseball bat at Palmer Park on August 1.

The Robbery Unit detectives caught a break in the case when the stolen car turned up in Salina, Kansas.
