Springs Mayor Joins local car dealership in $10K Park Initiative

The Mayor of Colorado Springs is partnering with a local car dealership to launch a special parks make over.
It's the "Freedom Honda New Citizens Park Initiative" and it will allow community members to determine which neighborhood park should receive funds for a makeover.
The initiative runs through March and the park that receives the most support from the public, will then be awarded $10,000.
"Parks and our trails system are essential to our long term economic vatality and our sense of well being. You know we have 40% above the national benchmark and parks and open space and that's great immenity and we want to try to maintain that. Partnerships like this with Freedom Honda will make a difference," said Mayor Steve Bach before a presentation at America the Beautiful Park today.
To vote visit Freedom Honda's Facebook Page and click on the parks tab to place your vote. Voting ends March 15th.
