UPDATED: Springs house fire burns 6, most are children

Colorado Springs firefighters now say one of six victims burned in an overnight house fire was an adult, the other 5 are children.  The adult, a 44 year old, and one of the children have been taken to a Denver area burn unit. We do not know the conditions of the others.

The fire started at around 3:30 this morning at a home at 1543 Chesham Circle, in the Holland Park area near Centennial Boulevard and Garden of the God's Road.  Firefighters believe the fire started in the garage. Two cars burned.

As many as 12 people were in the home at the time. Captain Rob Coffey of the CSFD says it looks as though multiple families were staying in the home and that one of them may have been in the process of moving.

"A lot of their belongings were inside the vehicle that had caught on fire," Coffey said.

Investigators with both the fire department and police department are currently on scene.  Meanwhile firefighters are trying to put out hot spots and get the fire under control.
