12 people living in homes in southeast Colorado Springs are now displaced after a home fire early around 3:30 Saturday morning.
Fire crews say the eight people inside the house on Frost Drive were woken up by firefighters responding to the fire, which was already burning the home. Lt. Jeff Sievers with the Colorado Springs Fire Department says a neighbor called in the fire.
Lt. Sievers adds that smoke detectors in the home were not working.
The fire damaged the much of the garage and the home before spreading to the home next door. Both homes have structural damage, making them unlivable.
Fire crews say no one was injured.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
