All afternoon we've been having Flood Advisories, Warnings and Severe Storms pop-up, but then die right back down. They haven't been around for long. A lot of that has to do with the fact that the winds are shifting in the upper atmosphere. Our mid-level storm that has been plaguing us for days, is finally getting a push east. However, it's still on top of us until late Monday. This means your Memorial Day will be similar to the past few days: spotty showers & t-storms, mild temperatures, sunshine early, and clouds by midday.
But Tuesday starts some changes. We'll still have some showers around in the high country, but the rest of us will be dry. Not only more sunshine, but more warmth too. Highs will climb into the 80s in many locations and stay there through Thursday. So mid-week looks really nice.
We'll be watching another upper-level storm that could affect us for the end of the week and into next weekend. This looks like it wants to bring us a return to the pop-up shower business for Friday and Saturday.
Have a great Memorial Day... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
