Well it wasn't a big warm up, but we have to start somewhere. Highs on Wednesday got a few degrees warmer compared to Tuesday and Monday, but they'll also continue to go up through the weekend.
At the surface, high pressure dominates. This wants to bring us the warmer temperatures and sunshine. However, the upper atmosphere is also going to affect us. The jet stream will run right over Colorado from now through Friday. So unfortunately this means we won't clear out completely. In fact, we'll keep a few spotty showers in the forecast through toThursday.
By Friday and into the weekend is when we really start to experience the warmup. Highs will climb into the 60s and 70s Friday and Saturday. Many areas will even be approaching, if not even in, the 80s for Sunday. And just for planning purposes, Sunday will be the nicer day with more sunshine too.
The warm and sunny weather continues into next week with highs staying in the 70s and 80s through at least Tuesday.
Enjoy the slow warm up... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
