The Colorado Springs Sky Sox finished off their season series with the Las Vegas 51s with an 11-4 victory Thursday afternoon at Security Service Field.

The Sox offense was bolstered by Chris Nelson who hit two three-run home runs, one in the second to give the Sox a 6-1 lead and the other in the sixth to stretch the lead to 11-3. Nelson finished 4-for-5 with three runs scored and six RBI on the day. It was the second multi home run game of Nelson's Sky Sox career while the six RBI were a career-high.

After watching the 51s take 1-0 lead in the top of the first, the Sox responded with three runs on a Matt Macri single to score Alfredo Amezaga and a two-run double by Mike Paulk. Amezaga finished 3-for-5 on the day with three runs scored in just his second start of the year in the leadoff spot.

Sox starter Esmil Rogers (1-2, 6.26) picked up the win allowing three runs on ten hits in 6.0 innings as he works to return from injury. Robert Ray (0-1, 7.00) took the loss allowing six runs on seven hits in just 2.0 innings.

The win gave the Sox a 9-7 win in the season series over the 51s including an 8-1 mark at Security Service Field. The Sox have now won nine of their last twelve games at home.

Next up, the Sox hit the road for a four-game set with the Fresno Grizzlies starting Friday night.
