South Pacific 7.3 quake generates a small tsunami no damage or injury reports

SYDNEY (AP) - There are no reports of damage or injuries from a powerful earthquake in the South Pacific. It struck under the sea near Vanuatu, generating a small tsunami.

Earthquake monitors say they measured it at 7.3 in magnitude. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says a tsunami wave measuring about 6 inches was recorded on some coastlines at Vanuatu.
