Son held without bond in stabbing death of father

A Colorado Springs man accused in the stabbing death of his father made his first court appearance via video from the county jail Tuesday afternoon.

Jason Lee Stroud, 32, is being without bond at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. He was advised that he could be charged with first-degree murder.

Terry Stroud, 59, was stabbed multiple times at the family home on El Capitan Drive early Monday. He was taken to the hospital but died shortly after he arrived.

Stroud's next court appearance is Friday, May 14.
