After a string of child abduction attempts in the Pikes Peak region, a Fort Carson soldier has been arrested for allegedly trying to lure children.

31-year-old 1st Lt. Aaron Gregory Lucas is facing charges of enticement of a child and kidnapping for a couple of incidents from earlier this year.

On June 19th the El Paso County Sheriff's Office investigated a reported child abduction in the 1200 block of Forest Road in Stratmoor Valley. E.P.S.O. says a nine-year-old girl was forced into a vehicle; she was dropped off in a nearby neighborhood a short time later. No arrest was made at the time.

Just last month, October 16th, the Sheriff's office looked into a similar case; a seven-year-old girl was approached by a man in the Stratmoor Hills area. The Sheriff's office says the man made a sexual reference and grabbed the girl's hand; the girl pulled away and ran home to safety.

In both incidents the suspect was described as a skinny, bald, white man, about 5'10", and 30 to 40 years old.

EPSO says that the Fountain Police Department and Colorado Springs Police Department have been investigating similar crimes; cooperation between agencies led them all to Lucas, according to a report from the Sheriff's office.

Lucas was arrested and taken to the Criminal Justice Center. For the incidents listed above Lucas faces a $2 million dollar bond for charges of enticement of a child and kidnapping from June, he also faces a $50,000 bond for enticement of a child for the October situation.

The investigation continues as to if Lucas was involved in any other incidents; if you have any information call Crimestoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
