Soldier accused of luring and exposure appears in court

The Fort Carson soldier accused of multiple instances of exposure, luring, and attempted kidnapping of up to 20 known victims across El Paso County over the past two years had another $50,000 added to his bond Tuesday.  Aaron Lucas, 31, is now being held in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on more than $700,000 bond in total, down from more than $2 million at one point due to a successful bond-reduction hearing.

"I want him to go to prison for as long as possible," said "Nikki," the mother of one alleged 5-year-old victim.  She says that Lucas exposed himself to her daughter and another 9-year-old girl as they played in their front yard in Fountain in June.  "He started talking to them and pulled down his pants and did his thing in front of them and tried to get the girls to come outside the gate," Nikki said.  Lucas allegedly returned several months later and once again tried to lure the girls.

"We expect that the more exposure that Mr. Lucas' behavior pattern gets, we will come across more victims," said Fountain Police Sergeant Scott Gilbertsen, who spearheaded a task force with Colorado Springs Police and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office to identify and capture Lucas.  "I would say he's a dangerous predator," Gilbertsen said.
