The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has released photos of the fossils discovered at an excavation site near Snowmass.
In one picture, the bones of a juvenile columbian mammoth are spread out on a table at the Snomass Water and Sanitaion District offices.
The bones were initially discovered by a construction worker on October 14 while doing work near the site.
Along with the mammoth, scientists have also unearths a mastadon tusk, a bison horn and the arm bone of a giant ground sloth.
