The City of Colorado Springs has prioritized its road clearing operations for tonight. The city initiated the winter operations as of 3pm Wednesday. Snow crews are currently working to clear primary routes.
Officials say roadways that handle the most traffic, will receive the highest priority for snowplow drivers. Officials say this process can take up to six hours, depending on how much snow that is needed to be cleared.
Once the primary routes are considered passable, secondary routes will be plowed. Secondary routes include streets and school access.
