Snake owner makes deadly mistake

A Papillion, Nebraska man died Wednesday night after being strangled by his own snake.

Corey Byrne, 34, was holding his pet when the snake when it slither around his neck and put a death squeeze on him.

Corey's girlfriend was there in the apartment with Byrne and called 911. The snake was still squeezing the man's neck when rescue crews started CPR.

The 25 pound snake is identified as a Red Tail Boa Constrictor.

Corey had reportedly shown the snake to neighborhood kids just before the deadly attack.
