Small grass fire in Monument is out

A small brush fire in Monument burned less than an acre before being put out by crews. No structures were threatened. There were no injuries.
Smoke from the fire prompted the closure of Lewis-Palmer Elementary School for the day. Children were taken to Lewis-Palmer Middle School to be picked up by parents or legal guardians.
