The Colorado Springs Sky Sox scored the first eight runs of the game and never looked back, as the Sox breezed to an 8-3 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Sunday afternoon.
Colorado Springs roughed up Bees starter Trevor Reckling for two runs in the first, three in the second and three in the fifth. All of the runs in the secnd and fifth innings came after there were two outs and no runners on base. Reckling (4-5) went four and two-third innings and allowed all eight runs on 10 hits with two walks, two hit batters and one strikeout.
Salt Lake finally got on the board on Paul McAnulty's leadoff home run in the fifth, which was his first roundtripper in a Salt Lake uniform. They added two more in the seventh on a two-run, pinch-hit double by Nick Gorneault. Amalio Diaz tossed three and one-third scoreless innings out of the Bees' bullpen with three strikeouts and one walk.
