WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Matt Carson hit a go-ahead home run in the fifth inning and Sacramento beat Colorado Springs 5-3 on Mother's Day at Raley Field. Carson's solo home run, his fifth homer of the season, gave Sacramento a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning. A Shane Peterson bunt single scored Anthony Recker from third base for a 4-2 lead in the fifth. Sacramento first baseman Wes Timmons went 3-for-4 and drove in an insurance run in the eighth inning. The River Cats have won six of the first seven games in this eight-game homestand, with the homestand finale Monday at 12:05 p.m. Sacramento is 11-8 at home this season; they have allowed three runs or less in each of their home victories.
