The Colorado Springs Sky Sox stayed hot at home Monday beating the Tacoma Rainiers 5-4. First baseman Chad Tracy nearly batted the cycle against Rainiers starting with solo homerun in the bottom of the third to tie the game.
Catcher Matt McBride hit an RBI single in the fourth followed by a Tracy two run double to give the Sox a 4-1 lead. Tracy singled later in the inning, crossing home plate on a Brandon Roberts single.
The Sox held of a late rally by Tacoma with runs driven in by Carlos Pegurero and Vinnie Catricala in the 8th inning and Nick Franklin in the 9th. The win moves Colorado Springs (39-38) above .500 for the first time since May 26th.
