Fire officials have reduced the size of the Eightmile Fire from 700 acres to 500.
According to public information officer Gregg Goodland, they flew over the fire and used infrared cameras to get a better estimate. The data they brought back show a much smaller burn area.
Goodland also said they had good conditions overnight with a lot of high humidity and very little wind.
The Rocky Mountain Incident Command team took over Saturday morning at 6am and will be giving a media briefing around 3pm.
