Six miles of HIghway 50 closed

Six miles of Highway 50 is closed near the tiny town of Swissvale, just east of Salida, due to a tanker truck accident and fire.
The State Patrol reports the closure is from mile marker 223 to 229. That six miles of highway is two lane and the road runs adjacent to the Arkansas River.
While we do not know the extent of the spill, we do know hazardous materials clean up crews are on the way. We also do not know if anyone was injured.
