Six drivers were cited with driving under the influence during the Colorado Springs Police Department's second night of sobriety checkpoints.

According to police, a total of 741 drivers were stopped, 13 of which were checked for driving under the influence. The checkpoint happened Saturday night about 10:30 p.m. on the 700 block of S. Academy Blvd. In addition to the six drivers cited with DUI, five additional drivers were issued for having open alcohol containers in their car.

The checkpoints are part of the statewide 100 Days of Heat Campaign led by the Colorado Department of Transportation. The checkpoint Friday night resulted in two DUI citations.
