Six boys were arrested for allegedly setting fires near Sagebrush Park in southeast Colorado Springs yesterday afternoon.
Investigators with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) say the 6 juvenile males set several small fires in the creekbed just east of the park using a large lighter and an aerosol can.
A witness had taken a photograph of the juveniles in the act and they were later positively identified by the witness. All six were charged with 4th Degree Arson and were referred to Colorado Springs Fire Department's (CSFD)Firefactor program.
The CSPD and CSFD would like to remind citizens that even though it's winter, the fire danger remains high due to windy and dry conditions.
