A sinkhole closed a section of Tejon St. between Mill Street and Fountain Boulevard. The closure will be in both directions.

Traffic should detour to Nevada Avenue. Crews hope to complete the repair by to tomorrow morning.

Engineers with the city of colorado springs say the sink hole seems to have been caused by a rotted out sewer pipe beneath the surface of the road. On the surface the hole spans about 24 inches across, however below the asphalt the hole is estimated to be at least 5 feet by 5 feet.
