Another gorgeous day... for most anyway!
Temperatures are climbing quickly. We'll be back in the mid 80s for Springs today, and low 90s for Pueblo. There's lots of sunshine out there, but I do think we'll see a few more clouds this afternoon. And also introduce a chance for some isolated showers up and down the I-25 corridor. I don't expect much until late afternoon and evening. Showers will be mainly isolated to the higher elevations. But even from Colorado Springs down through Trinidad could see some spotty cells through 9 PM this evening. Severe weather is not expected, but that doesn't mean we won't see some healthy storms. Pea size hail, frequent lightning and winds to 40 mph will be possible with any storms. The best chance for widespreadd showers will come for our Friday.
Just about everyone has a good chance of seeing showers from late morning Friday through the evening hours. Because we'll have more clouds and showers around, temperatures will cool slightly. A few lingering showers will be around for your Saturday. But don't expect these to be as widespread as Friday's storms.
Sunday we'll dry back out and expect a really nice second half of the weekend. Highs will be a little above average as mostly sunny skies will be the rule. The beginning of next week also looks nice as the rain will stay away through midweek, and temperatures stay above normal.
Enjoy the warmth... Meteorologist Valerie Abati
