Sheriff: Missing boys may have planned to run away

TELLURIDE, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say two boys who disappeared in western Colorado three days ago may have been planning to run away.

The pair vanished Sunday while the father of one boy and another man were rock climbing. The boys had accompanied the adults on the outing but did not go climbing.

The San Miguel County Sheriff's Department said Wednesday it had information indicating the two might have planned to run away. A spokeswoman didn't immediately return calls from The Associated Press.

Investigators identified the boys as 12-year-old Christopher Ihinger and 14-year-old Danny Eberly, both of
Telluride.

The Telluride Daily Planet reports the
two men discovered the boys were missing when they reached the top of a rock feature and couldn't see them or the pickup the group came in.
