Sheriff halts storm water fee seizures

According the Associated Press and our news partners at the Gazette, The El Paso County sheriff has told deputies to stop confiscating money for delinquent storm water
fees.
Sheriff's deputies went to several Ace Loan pawn shops around Colorado Springs on Friday taking cash from registers and safes.
The raid was the second in recent weeks that included the emptying of an owner's wallet.
The fees were abolished in 2009, but that left about $760,000 in delinquent fees that needed to be collected from 7,600 property owners.
The city is trying to do that over a several year period.
