The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region has lengthened its hours in hopes of helping more people retrieve their lost pets.
Effective November 1, hours will be extended to 8 a.m.- 8:00 p.m. during the winter months and 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. during the summer months. Adoption will be available 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The over-night drop boxes will close on November 1. In the event of an emergency, such as an injured or aggressive animal, residents should contact Animal Control at 719 473-1741.
More than 23,000 animals pass through the shelter each year.
