The Teller County Sheriff says his investigators have made a major break in a sexual assault case in Florissant. According to Sheriff Mike Ensminger, deputies searched a property in the town on Thursday and were able to obtain a substantial amount of evidence.
He isn't saying much about the nature of the evidence or where it was discovered out of a concern for the safety of victim or victims.
"We're going to process the evidence," Ensminger explained. "And our next step will be obtaining some arrest warrants for the suspects involved in this case."
He adds that sexual abuse has been going on for at least two years.
