Severe T'Storm Watch issued for far Eastern Plains

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the Eastern Plains of Colorado until 9 PM MDT.

These counties are included in the watch: Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Kiowa, Lincoln, Otero, and Prowers.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms, which can produce hail the size of quarters and larger and wind gusts in excess of 60 mph. Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes with little or no warning.

If you are in one of the counties listed in the watch, you should monitor weather updates throughout the afternoon and evening and be prepared to move to a place of safety if severe thunderstorm winds or a tornado threatens.
