Eastbound Fountain Boulevard was closed for hours after the following the deadly accident that happened just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.  The Colorado Springs Police Department Major Accident Unit is investigating the crash.

According to police, the driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander was making a left turn onto Fountain when it collided with Honda Accord that was heading south on Powers.

The police do not suspect drugs and alcohol were involved, but they do say charges are pending.
