DENVER (AP) - Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet is continuing his emphasis on education during a speech to mark the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
Bennet says he'll talk about schools Friday at the annual Business Social Responsibility Awards Luncheon in Denver. The luncheon honors the slain civil rights leader.
Bennet is a former superintendent of Denver Public Schools. The Democrat says he'd like to help craft national education policy in the Senate.
The senator toured an elementary school in Colorado Springs earlier this week and plans to visit more schools.
