LAS VEGAS (AP) - Janita Badon scored 18 points and Michelle Harrison had 15, helping Utah beat Air Force 70-55 in the second round of the Mountain West Conference women's tournament Wednesday.
The game was tied at 29 at halftime before the Utes (16-16) used an 18-2 run over the first 11 minutes of the second half to put away the Falcons (9-22) and advance to the semifinals on Friday against top-seeded BYU.
Badon and Harrison pulled down eight boards each as the Utes outrebounded Air Force 40-26 and grabbed 16 off the offensive glass, which led to a 22-7 advantage in second-chance points.
Michelle Plouffe and Iwalani Rodrigues each added 11 points for Utah. Megan Muniz led the Falcons with 13 points and Kelsey Berger scored 12.
