The Colorado Air National Guard will resume its search today for external fuel tanks jettisoned over open country as the pilot of an F-16 prepared to make an emergency landing in Colorado Springs. The fighter landed without incident.

Maj. Nicole David says the tanks aren't dangerous but are important to the investigation. David says the jet wasn't carrying weapons. She said she didn't know the nature of the emergency.

The jet took off from Buckley Air Force Base outside Denver for a training flight over Colorado and Kansas. The jet landed at Peterson AFB.
