A group of doctors and medical students is providing free surgeries in Pueblo.

International Surgical Missions, along with a couple of other organizations
will perform the surgeries in October. This free service is for individuals with a low-income. People with insurance are not eligible. The medical group plans to perform 50 surgeries.

"Typically in the past we've seen gallbladder surgery, hernia repairs, tubal ligations, vasectomies, a lot of times what we refer to as lumps and bumps anywhere on your body, that we can remove that for you," said Cameron Allen, Director of Donations for International Surgical Missions.

Due to the high demand for this free service patients will be screened first to determine who's eligible. The screenings take place Saturday, September 19 at 9 a.m. at the Pueblo Surgery Center at 25 Montebello Rd.
