Former congressman Scott McInnis says he has reached a settlement over allegations he gave them a plagiarized report in exchange for $300,000.
McInnis spokesman Sean Duffy said terms of the settlement with the Hasan Family Foundation were not disclosed. He said McInnis, a Reublican running for governor, signed the agreement on Friday.
Aliya Hasan, daughter of the foundation chairwoman, confirmed that a settlement had been reached. She said the family would issue a statement later.
McInnis offered to repay the money after the foundation said it wanted its money back, noting that McInnis has admitted some of the work wasn't his own.
