Schriever Air Force Base officers among those targeted by Air Force investigation

A number of Air Force officers, including some stationed at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, are being investigated as part of a probe into illegal recreational drug use by the Air Force.

The investigation is ongoing and few details are being released, though it is reported to be centered on the use of synthetic marijuana. Air Force officials have confirmed that 9 lieutenants and one captain are being investigated for illegal drug possession. The officers were stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, Malmstrom Air Force Base, Vandenberg Air Force Base, F.E. Warren Air Force Base, RAF Lakenheath and Schriever.

Officials say the probe started with two officers at Edwards Air Force Base and was then expanded as investigators gathered more information.
