Schools run dry

LA VILLA, Texas - It was supposed to be back to the classroom in La Villa, Texas Monday as students returned from their winter break.

Instead the doors were locked at all the campuses and signs were posted saying all buildings and offices are closed until further notice.

The school district says the reason school is closed is because of a water dispute with the city.

The school district claims they were willing to pay a $6 surcharge per student, plus the normal consumption rate.

The school district says the city then raised their surcharge to $14, and the school district said they would not pay the extra $8s. Following that the city shut off the water to the school.
