SC Gov. Sanford saw Argentine lover in Florida

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford says he spent this past weekend with his Argentine lover in Florida.
Sanford told reporters at a news conference on an unrelated issue Wednesday that he spent several days with Maria Belen Chapur to see if they could restart their relationship. Sanford was still married when he disappeared for five days last summer and returned to South Carolina to admit he had been in Argentina visiting Chapur. The two were having a yearlong affair.
State lawmakers have censured him, and he and wife Jenny divorced earlier this year after the revelations about Chapur became public. She's dating a Georgia businessman.
Sanford would not say where he and Chapur stayed or whether it's the first time he's seen her since the Argentina trip. The term-limited Republican leaves office in January.
