Cheese Steak Hoagie

Yields: 4 cheese steak sandwiches

Ingredients: 1 lb thinly shaved New York strip meat.
1 small white onion (small diced)
½ cup of cherry peppers, seeded and diced
¼ cup of canola oil
4 cups shredded Colby Jack cheese
½ of a head of leaf lettuce (sliced into thin strips)
1 large vine ripe tomato (small dice)
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
4 fresh hoagie rolls


Procedure: With medium high heat sauté onion in oil in a wide base sauté pan to give the ingredients plenty of room to cook properly. When onions are caramelized, add meat and break apart the meat while sautéing. Add cherry peppers and cook mixture until meat is cooked through; pull off the heat. Next put all ingredients into 4 separate piles for 4 separate sandwiches. Add cheese on top of each pile and put everything under a broiler for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted through. Cut hoagie rolls length ways in half and open bread up to toast the inside of roll. Place mixture on top of hoagie rolls and garnish with lettuce and tomato. Serve with a side of mayonnaise to finish the dish.
