The extreme heat in Colorado will continue through the weekend. Like in recent days afternoon storms will fire up, but these storms really won't bring any beneficial rain. These storms will be high based storms that most of the rain will evaporate before reaching the surface. This type of storm behavior really only brings gusty winds, and dry lightning. The air will be drier Sunday, and there is a fire weather watch for Sunday.
Saturday forecast:
Colorado Springs: Increasing afternoon clouds, 20% chance for afternoon storms, high 95
Pueblo: 20% chance for an afternoon storm, high 103
Monument: 20% chance for late day storms, high 93
Teller County: 20% chance for storms, high 84
