Salvation Army seeks "angels" to help children

The Salvation Army of Pueblo is asking for your help to make this Christmas a little brighter for some children in need.

The Angel Tree programs helps children ages 14 and under in low income families.

Donors select a name off a Christmas tree at the Pueblo Mall and are asked to buy that child new unwrapped toys, clothes, or other gifts.

The Salvation Army is trying to help 830 children this year--a record high. "We are seeing a lot of people needing help," said Capt. Maggie Laubach with the Salvation Army of Pueblo. "People that are coming to our building saying I've never had to request an assistance before, but this year I just cannot make it, I cannot provide for my children, so can you help," she added.

The Salvation Army requests you can make donations now through December 11th. The Angel Tree is located in front of Sears at the Pueblo Mall.

A week before Christmas, the Salvation Army will deliver the presents to parents, so they can give the gifts to their children.
