Sales tax revenues up in September

Sales tax revenues in Colorado Springs in September were up over September of last year by 9.58 percent.

Busy sales were reflected in the tax receipts from building materials, which were up by 35 percent. Auto dealer receipts reflected busy car sales in September. That number was up 25 percent over last year.

Showing a drop from a year ago was business services -- down 17 percent. Hotel and motel receipts were down by just over 2 percent.

Sales tax reciepts have now passed the number from 2007. In '08, '09 the numbers dropped and then started to come back up in 2010.
